Participatory monitoring: guidelines for practitioners in the fight against human trafficking
Tools for monitoring projects that combat human trafficking
This document provides tools for monitoring projects that combat trafficking of women and children. The guidelines consist of three parts including a theoretical framework for participatory monitoring, a kit with eight different tools to be used to collect data as well as annexes with tips on how to run training workshops and analyse baseline data. The guidelines and these eight different tools were developed with a view to involve all key stakeholders, including government officials, partner organisations, families and children at risk of trafficking and the Mekong Project to Combat Trafficking in Children and Women (TICW) project staff themselves.
The tools presented are:
- partner capacity development matrix
- capacity development self evaluation questionnaire
- matrix on IGA effectiveness for use with men, women and youth
- questionnaire on village livelihoods and external factors
- village leadership and community involvement matrix
- migration map for returnees
- story-boards to identify factors affecting decisions to migrate
- aspirations and practical knowledge matrix
- the H method for community consultations.
