Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE)
Pan African membership organisation with 33 national chapters, registered in Kenya in 1993. FAWEs aim is to increase access and retention and to improve the quality of education for all girls in the African school system, and for women in African universities. Its activities include:
- advocacy
- policy consultation
- maintaining a resource centre on girls education in Africa
- production of various research publications.
FAWE serves as the lead agency for the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) Working Group on Female Participation (WGFP).
