View full report

This study finds that most of female unskilled labourers moved from village to town and had come from distressed family situations and were often discriminated /harassed by their employers and co-workers. The study conducted in Savar region shows that female unskilled labors were offered very low wages and benefits, no type of holidays / leave. They had to work during religious festivals also. They did not receive wages of those non-working days due to illness or any other causes. Though both males and females worked ten hour days, females were paid less.
