About the guide
The HIV and AIDS Resource Guide provides cross-cutting coverage of the social, economic and political aspects of HIV and AIDS in developing countries. It brings together and synthesises research, knowledge and experience from diverse sources in order to inform policy debates.
The guide is produced by the IDS Health and Development Information Team, in collaboration with Eldis and the DFID Health Resource Centre (HRC).
The IDS Health and Development Information Team provides high-quality, accessible information drawn from a diversity of sources, in order to support informed decision-making by policymakers and practitioners working in health and development.
Eldis is an online information service based at the Institute of Development Studies, UK, which aims to share the best in development, policy, practice and research.
The HRC is a consortium funded by DFID to provide top quality advice and expertise in public health and health systems in low and middle income countries.
The resource guide offers:
- Wide-ranging coverage: comprehensive range of important topics
- Key issues guides: in-depth coverage of current debates and issues
- Database of research: searchable database of over 1400 clear & concise summaries of cross-sectoral publications
- Country profiles: Region and country specific information
- Directories: organised coverage of HIV and AIDS relevant information, including newsletter & discussion lists, key organisations, and other relevant information sources
- Reporters: monthly email bulletins featuring summaries of research on a topical theme plus details of new research papers and news items added to the resource guide
- Announcements: listing of important events and opportunities
- User friendly site: multiple search facilities through our topic areas, a-z index and regional search facilities
