Scaling up access to ARVs
With a handful of landmark government victories over pharmaceutical companies winning the right to produce generic drugs, much research and government attention is now being given to the issue of how best to scale-up access to ARVs in different countries. Should governments aim for universal access to ARVs through the public health sector? Would a collaboration of private and public health providers be more effective in delivering ARVs to the population? If universal access is not possible, which groups in society should be prioritised to receive ARVs?
