AAAS is a nonprofit professional society dedicated to the advancement of scientific and technological excellence across all disciplines, and to the public's understanding of science and technology. Publishes the journal Science, operates a range of science education and networking projects (including Project 2061 for K-12 science education materials). International projects include support for Universities in Sub-Saharan Africa and a Population and Sustainable Development Project
