Approaches to linking SRH and HIV/AIDS
The above recommendations position HIV and AIDS prevention, treatment and care within the broader SRH framework, and vice versa. These linkages are endorsed with a view to increasing the cost-efficiency and effectiveness of services, reducing stigma, and enabling greater servicing of the needs of clients. There is no single model which reflects how this integration of HIV and AIDS and SRH programming should take place. Rather adaptability and tailoring of policies and services is required, taking into account the specific context and needs of clients, and possible referrals options. In doing this it is critical to ensure that an increased emphasis on HIV and AIDS does not occur at the expense of SRH information and services. Below are a number of the key considerations for integration:
