The recent UN High Level Dialogue on Migration provided a platform for the articulation of many related issues that are bound up with the possibilities and perils of globalisation. A key theme of the conference was the feminisation of migration, both across and within international borders.
The UNFPA State of the Population Report echoes this observation, providing a commentary on the important role of women in remitting funds that alleviate aspects of poverty, but also calling for the recognition of these women's rights not to be exploited, deceived or marginalised.
