Committee on Population, National Academy of Sciences (CPOP)


The Committee on Population (CPOP) was established to conduct scientific assessments of major population-related issues and to provide a forum for the discussion and analysis of important public policy issues related to population. It deals with questions about the determinants and consequences of changes in population size and distribution that are important to policy makers and researchers in both developed and developing nations.

  • Workshop on Biomarker Collection in Population-Based Health and Aging Research
  • Expert Meeting on Disability Decline in the United States
  • Expert Meeting on Estimates of the Mortality Crisis in Darfur, Sudan
  • Using Demographic Data and Tools More Effectively To Assist Populations At Risk of Facing Disasters
