The overall role of the Child Protection Advisor is to provide technical leadership and guidance on the development and implementation of War Child’s Child Protection work in Iraq, and to represent War Child at National and International Child Protection fora.

The overall aim of the Child Protection Adviser is to assess, design and guide staff to initiate interventions to address violations of children's rights to protection from abuse, exploitation, violence and neglect.
The post holder is responsible for ensuring that quality programmes are initiated and capacities developed to protect conflict-affected children in Iraq.
The post holder will be expected to lead on sectoral assessment, programme and project design and master budgeting, national level coordination, advocacy, and support fundraising, and recruitment of Child Protection Officers.
To provide leadership and management in project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation for multiple Children in Emergencies (CiE) projects in Iraq IDPs response in Anbar and other parts of the country.
The project area covers both camps and host communities.
