This consultancy will aim at ensuring that the reintegration model designed by War Child UK is robust and supported by best practices, lessons learnt and case studies, able to inform future child protection practices in the field of rehabilitation and reintegration of former children associated with armed forces and groups. In this view the consultancy will aim at:

  • Developing a detailed work plan for 3 months to support the Child Protection Programme within War Child UK’s Programme Quality Team, particularly related to the gathering of best practices around the reintegration model of former children associated with armed forces and armed groups
  • Carrying out a literature and desk review on best practices in reintegration programming of children associated with armed forces and groups
  • Together with the Child Protection Technical Advisor and Advocacy Team, at producing a detailed methodology of the identification of key actors and information gathering on reintegration programming across War Child’s operational country programming
  • Conducting interviews and consultations with key actors (academics, NGO representatives, War Child field staff, etc.) on challenges and opportunities related to each of the specific components of the reintegration model, in co-ordination with and at times alongside the Advocacy Team
  • Drafting a final report including all the outcomes drawn from the consultations and interviews undertaken
