The Protection Coordinator will provide technical support to the programme teams to mainstream protection across interventions and oversee the implementation of stand-alone Protection programming, across the whole of Iraq (Regular Programming and Emergencies).
The role will incorporate the following 4 core areas of work:
- Program quality (design, proposal and reporting). This will involve reviewing and adapting the protection strategy, providing technical input into concept notes, proposals and logical frameworks, overseeing the quality and timeliness of implementing the protection strategy, designing tools and approaches, and ensuring interventions adhere to Oxfam's safe programming standards.
- Support to programme implementation and management. This will require working with Program Managers and Team Leaders to unpack project results into detailed activities, and monitoring project implementation through field visits and distance management.
- Capacity-building of staff and partners. This will involve identifying capacity-building needs, and providing training and coaching.
- External representation, coordination, and influencing. This will include ensuring Oxfam representation in technical working groups and sector clusters, meeting with donors and partners, and supporting advocacy and campaigning on protection issues.
