Special Projects Manager
The Incentive Fund Phase 4 (IF4) aims to attract, identify and incentivise high performing Papua New Guinean organisations to expand the reach, coverage and quality of their contribution to service delivery and/or economic development in PNG. Projects previously funded include the redevelopment of markets, schools, health aid posts, bridges, training facilities, clinics and hospitals, and delivery of training.
Coffey, as the managing contractor for the Incentive Fund 4, is currently seeking applications for a Special Projects Manager.
The Special Projects Manager (SPM) reports to the IF4 Team Leader and is responsible for managing the implementation of Special Projects including: working with the Australian High Commission to discuss and define concepts; conduct feasibility and scoping activities to prepare reports; develop detailed implementation plans and budgets; and, following approval, manage the implementation of projects from start to completion. The SPM will, as required, contribute to the delivery of IF4 as a senior manager of the team, and, if needed, on occasion act as the IF4 Team Leader. The SPM will work to support the policy and procedures of IF4 and ensure the implementation of the Work Health and Safety Management System for the program.
The ideal candidate for this key position will have relevant tertiary qualification in building construction, construction management, architecture or civil engineering. For success you will need demonstrated experience in managing the delivery of successful infrastructure/construction projects combined with strong stakeholder relationship management experience and performance managing medium to large budgets.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the design, implementation and management of multiple projects from small to large scale construction activities will be highly regarded as will experience in: estimation, tendering and procurement, construction schedule development and implementation. Aid development infrastructure and/or PNG experience is highly desirable.
