    Farmers’ seed systems in Nepal: review of national legislations

    Seed regulatory frameworks in Nepal were reviewed from the perspective of farmers’ seed systems. Nepal has formulated 17 policy instruments (including draft bills) since 1988 when the first Seed Act came into effect. Of these, 16 are either on plant genetic resources for food and agriculture, or on seed or related to overall agriculture development in Nepal.

    Maternal and child nutrition in Nepal: Examining drivers of progress from the mid-1990s to 2010s

    This paper explores the drivers of Nepal's maternal and child nutrition success using document review, interviews with mothers, and quantitative analysis of DHS datasets. Our qualitative and quantitative analyses both highlight similar policy and community level changes but limited improvements in child feeding and care practices.

Based on in-depth studies of eight diverse post-conflict countries and four cross-cutting thematic studies, the findings provide a framework that helps to explain sources of success, and failure, and points to policy requirements and constraints in this area.
