07 Aug 2019: Following renewed funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and DFID, the African Property Tax Initiative (APTI) is pleased to announce a second call for proposals for research projects on property taxation that are of a high academic standard and relevant to policy and practice.
We are calling for proposals on APTI’s six core themes:
07 Sep 2018: Africa is the fastest urbanising continent on the planet. In order to provide citizens with adequate public goods and services and invest in the required infrastructure, African cities need sufficient and sustainable revenues.
07 Sep 2018: Nigeria’s tax to GDP ratio is one of the lowest in the world. At under 6%, it is far below the sub-Saharan African average of 20%, and the 15% considered to be necessary to fund adequate public services.
