Food systems and climate change

Food systems and climate change

Food systems worldwide are not delivering healthy, sustainably produced food for the majority of people. Climate change is both a negative outcome of environmentally damaging food systems, and a threat to the future of food production and the livelihoods that depend on it. The Sustainable Diets for All (SD4All) programme has been informed by the linkages between food systems and climate change, as well as health. This document highlights some of the ways in which the programme has addressed these linkages through its activities and influenced food and agricultural policies which have implications for tackling climate change. Based on learnings from the programme, the authors have identified a number of recommendations for policy, action and research on food systems and climate change.
