Good practices for environmental impact assessment of development projects

Urges aid agencies to assess the environment impact of deelopment assistance projects as early as possible in the project planning process. The basic rationale and main components are laid out in a clear, succinct format for non-specialists, explaining:

why an EIA is important
what it should contain
what steps should be followed
how it can be integrated in project planning, design and implementation
