Voluntary code of conduct for the release of organisms into the environment

The proposed document contains all the elements of a code of conduct for the release of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) into the environment. It aims to set forth the minimum acceptable components necessary for international cooperation. While not calling for a change in national regulatory provisions, it is intended as a general model that could be adopted in countries that have no regulations at present.
