Poverty and social exclusion in Mexico
Poverty and social exclusion in Mexico
Purpose of this study is to comment on the main dimensions and thrusts which bring together the processes of exclusion in the economic, political, social and cultural fields. The majority of the phenomena linked to social exclusion have been identified: extreme inequality, geographical concentration of investment in productive capacity and budgetary allocations, loss or lack of access to employment and/or means of livelihood, and lack of access or insufficient access to education and health. Moreover, it is necessary to look at other dimensions in the analysis of processes which lead to exclusion, such as social discrimination, lack of access to the exercise of rights, privilege structures, and rights.
