Social Exclusion in Brazil
Social Exclusion in Brazil
Attempts to put the ongoing debate on social exclusion in present day capitalism in the light of the basic frameworks that continue to dispute the hearts and minds of humanity, and use these frameworks in an analysis of the processes of social exclusion that took place in Brazil during the last decades. These frameworks individualism and structuralism are, knowingly or not, at the root of most approaches and proposed solutions to the problem. Although most of the times, both, individual as well as structural causes of social exclusion are aknowledged, the ideological and political battles around what to do about social exclusion are fought between partisans of one and the other framework.
