Gender Management Systems in the Health Sector
Gender Management Systems (GMSs) are a powerful tool for mainstreaming gender within policies and programmes at all levels of government. The Commonwealth Secretariat has been pioneering the introduction of GMSs within the health sector as an innovative strategy for gender mainstreaming in this sector. This paper examines the principles of GMSs and describes the processes that are being piloted in regions of the Commonwealth for the development of GMSs and for their implementation in the health sector.
