A Multi-stakeholder approach to sustainable catchment management

The Whaingaroa Catchment Management Project (WCMP) represents the first formal attempt in New Zealand at establishing community-based, integrated environmental management on a catchment scale.

A participatory, goal-free evaluation process was used to document the effects of the project on the target participants and to assess the extent to which actual participant needs are being met by the project.
