National tourism sector adaptation strategy to address climate change in Barbados
This report was prepared to better understand the implication of climate change for tourism in the Caribbean and the options for addressing these projected impacts. Concentrated on Bartbados, the report addresses the impact of sea level rise on the coastal elements of country's tourism product and changing precipitation and consumption patterns on the available potable water supply on which the tourism industry and the population of Barbados depend. The report also addresses the status and configuration of the existing enabling environment (institutional, legal, and policy) and its ability to support and facilitate climate change adaptation planning and action in the tourism industry.
