Now available: free online course on Disaster Risk Reduction Management

20th February 2018

Interested in Disaster Risk Reduction Management? The Humanitarian Learning Centre has recently launched a new, free online course for provincial administrators, mid-level managers and NGO practitioners: Global Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Pathway.

Launched in 2017, the Humanitarian Learning Centre supports the Humanitarian Leadership Academy’s mission by generating research, documenting best practice and producing learning content for use on Kaya or by the Academy Centre network.

This course on Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) has been designed to provide an in-depth overview of people-centred DRRM to humanitarian professionals interested in expanding their knowledge, and is therefore not designed for entry-level learners, but would be suitable for those who are looking for a more nuanced understanding of DRRM.

This online course is interactive, including audio, videos and interviews from experts working in this area to really bring key issues and debates around DRRM to life. You can take the course at your own pace and it should take 5.5 hours to complete.

For more information on how to join the course, take a look at the Kaya page for Global Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Pathway.

The Humanitarian Learning Centre is hosted by the Institute of Development Studies (IDS). It is a joint initiative of IDS, International Rescue CommitteeCrown Agents and the Humanitarian Leadership Academy.
