ActionAid International
ActionAid aims "to help communities in 20 of the poorest countries to overcome poverty and secure lasting improvements in the quality of their lives". It's current focus is on community based development, working with communities to design, fund and manage programmes. ActionAid has worked on the development of participatory methodologies, including the Reflect method for adult literacy training. ActionAid also provides emergency relief when required. amd works to increase public awareness and to contribute to policy debate.
Information servicesinclude:
(a) Library: Library materials collected since 1973, and database records since 2000. Materials are indexed and abstracted. Resources includes journal articles and journal holdings.
