Ditshwanelo - the Botswana Centre for Human Rights
The Centre seeks to affirm human dignity and equality irrespective of gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, social status or political convictions.
Its activities include:
- activism and information with the aim of establishing a human rights culture in Botswana, engaging with the government and its legislative procedures and raising public awareness
- children and human rights programme which develops resources for use in schools for both formal teaching and to support student-run activities
- paralegal and research programme which provides paralegal support to those on low income and conducts in-depth research
- an outreach programme in Kasane directly supporting the Basarwa / San minority communities in northern Botswana
