Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC)

Membership organisation aiming to accelerate the achievement of sustainable water, sanitation and waste management services for all people, with special attention to the unserved poor, by enhancing collaboration among developing countries and external support agencies and through concerted action programmes. Established in 1990 at the end of the International Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation Decade. Its purpose is to maintain the momentum of the Decade, by providing a forum for water and sanitation sector organisations and professionals to exchange views, research and experiences.

Coordinates a wide range of working groups, taskforces and networks, as well as regional networks.

Its web site, the InterWATER web site, Source Water and Sanitation News service and Global Environmental Sanitation Initiative http://www.wsscc.org/gesi/index.html ar being mainatained by IRC International water and Sanitation Centre (see separate entries).

WWW site includes; details of activities of members; draft catalogue of documents and publications from WSSCC or its working groups, networks, task forces, etc.; links to some full-text publications from members.
