Independent Institute of Socio-Economic and Political Studies,, Belarus (IISEPS)

IISEP is a national public association established in February 1992 by group of academics, journalists, politicians and businessmen. Its main goal is to promote formation of civil society and free market economy in Belarus through the study of socio-economic and political processes of transition and active promotion of liberal values and principles.

Main activities of the Institute include:

  • research in sociology, economics and political science
  • consulting
  • organisation of conferences and seminars
  • publishing and dissemination of information-analytical materials
  • professional training

The Institute is currently working on the project 'Strengthening role of independent social research and experts' networks in Belarus'. The project is focused on strengthening independent social research and analysis, and their contribution to the development of Belarusian society. The results of research and analysis will be widely published in mass media, as well as intensively discussed at national conferences and regional seminars

Within the project 'Strengthening role of independent social research and experts' networks in Belarus' conducted by IISEPS in 2002-2004 will be organized international conference 'Formation of public opinion and policy in Belarus' in Minsk and a series of seminars in Gomel and Brest.
