Land Tenure Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison (LTC)

Research and training centre focusing on legal, political, social and economic institutions that affect equitable access to and sustainable use of land and other natural resources. Coverage includes markets, traditions, customs, rules, laws and regulations, gender, farmer incentives. Information resources include:
  • WWW site: information on LTC research programmes and publications list. Include many full text documents
  • Library: holds some 70,000 development related documents. Available as part of University of Wisconsin-Madison library catalogue (not available separately). Distributes acquisitions list via their email discussion list
  • Tenure: discussion list (see separate entry)
  • Broadening Access and Strengthening Input Market Systems (BASIS): research programme on land, water, labor, and financial markets and their interaction. WWW site has documentation from the programme.
