Workshop on the Analysis of Poverty and its Determinants in the MENA Region
Held at the Sanaa Sheraton Hotel, 31 July - 1 August, 2001. Organised by The Economic Research Forum for the Arab Countries, Iran and Turkey, ERF and the World Bank.
The workshop is intended to bring together researchers working in the various aspects of poverty and its determinants in the region. To build on ERF’s previous work in this area, the workshop will target, in particular, researchers who rely primarily on the analysis of household survey data, but other contributions will be considered. The main objective of the workshop is to identify and discuss the main areas of poverty research being currently undertaken in the region. Discussions will also benefit from the comments of international experts who will be invited for this purpose.
