Flagship Programme on Health Sector Reform and Sustainable Financing, World Bank

To complement the Bank’s HNP lending program with a more effective learning program, the World Bank Institute (WBI) has developed a "Flagship Program on Health Sector Reform and Sustainable Financing" in close collaboration with the Bank’s Human Development Department and a special "Donor Advisory Group." The principal goal of the Flagship Program is to provide intensive, state-of-the-art knowledge, training on options for health sector development, lessons learned from experience, and best practice.

It is targeted to public and private officials from Bank client countries, Bank staff, and representatives of donor agencies. The Program combines health reform training programs in Washington, DC, with regional training programs hosted by its Regional Partner Institutes (RPIs) around the world, including China, Hungary, Lebanon, Chile, South Africa, and Thailand.

The Flagship Program is specially committed to the development of national capacities through collaboration and dissemination of knowledge and training at regionally-based partner institutes.
