The Public Administration and Local Government Center - PALGO Center, was founded in Belgrade in 1998, as a non-governmental, independent and non-profit-making organization, but its foundations were laid two years before.

From the very beginning the center was profiled as a "think tank" organization, specializing in interdisciplinary work in the field of public and local (self) government, public policy and public administration. The activities of the center, in the mentioned fields, have been focussed on education, research, consulting and publishing.
