The Department of Geography at the University of British Columbia, Canada, integrates the natural sciences, the humanities, and the social sciences in its teaching, study and research. It offers courses in a wide range of geographical specializations at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. These extend from postcolonial perspectives to process-oriented scientific inquiry including GIS for spatial analysis and modelling. The Department maintains traditional links between the Faculties of Arts and Science, and also has connections with programs and institutes within UBC (such as EOS, SDRI, RMES, IRE, Canadian Studies, Comparative Literature, and Women Studies) and beyond the university.
