Panos Institute, London

The Panos Institute, London is a registered charity which works to make the complex issues facing developing countries accessible and understandable, to provide information that people can trust, and to open up opportunities for different perspectives to be heard.

Since 1996, Panos London has set up a network of regional offices in Southern Africa (Lusaka, Zambia); Eastern Africa (Kampala, Uganda and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia); South Asia (Kathmandu, Nepal and New Delhi, India). Each regional centre is moving towards independence and has its own Regional Advisory Committee drawn from the countries in which it works, meeting twice a year to discuss policy and strategy. The advisors are media and/or development professionals.

Panos both produces material for journalists to use to write their own articles (see Panos Reports and Panos Books) as well as publishing a free monthly package of in-depth articles on issues that matter to people living in developing countries (see Panos Features).

The website provides access to news & features, reports and books, information via themes (including communication for development, conflict & media, environment & globalisation, oral testimony, and reproductive health & gender), and a press centre.
