A registered organisation focused on capacity building of NGOs and an initiator of community empowerment projects countrywide. The Hamyaran Iran NGO Resource Center is a volunteer, non-profit, non-political, and independent institute that aims to:

• empower people, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and other civil society organisations (CSOs) through increasing their knowledge and skills, particularly in advocacy and research
• strengthen national and international cooperation
• promote an enabling work environment for NGOs
• provide people-centered development models with an emphasis on and a respect for sustainable development, environmental protection, community participation, poverty alleviation, equal rights of citizens - particularly for women and youth - an NGO code of ethics, transparency and accountability, and human dignity with a focus on vulnerable groups.

As a resource center for the NGO community, Hamayran has been accumulating information on a variety of topics of interest to the community and established links with several international centers. The center initiated scientific and cultural exchange projects of cooperation between Iranian, German, US and European researchers and research institutions and Iranian expatriate specialists, and has approached the topic from the standpoint of creating a Virtual Knowledge Center, and an NGO Portal.
