Sub-Saharan Africa Transport Policy Program, World Bank (SSATP)

The Sub-Saharan Africa Transport Policy Program (SSATP) at the World Bank is a unique partnership of countries, regional economic communities, public and private African institutions and organisations, international organisations and development partners - all dedicated to the goal of ensuring that transport plays its full part in achieving the developmental objectives of Sub-Saharan Africa, poverty reduction, pro-poor growth, and regional integration.

Since 2003, member countries of the Sub-Saharan Africa Transport Policy Program have been using a participatory, stakeholder-led process to review and improve the links between their national transport sector strategies and poverty reduction strategies. Over 24 countries are currently involved in the Poverty Reduction-Transport Strategy Review process (PRTSR), and more will join.

The SSATP website provides further information about the programme, as well as access to the programmes publications.
