    In Tanzania agriculture is almost entirely driven by smallholder farmers still depending on the hand hoe, traditional rain-fed agriculture, and animal husbandry practices. Women account for more than 70% of the agricultural production especially food crops, and they play an important role in the efforts to transform Tanzanian agriculture.

    In Ethiopia, 60 per cent of the population is at risk of malaria. The transmission of the disease is unstable and the possibility of epidemics demand continuous vigilance and preparedness of the health system. The complexity of the transmission of the disease has become an impediment to retain the effectiveness of prevention and control strategies.

    More than two decades of climate change negotiations have produced a series of global climate agreements, such as the Kyoto Protocol and the Copenhagen Accords, but have nevertheless made very limited progress in curbing global emissions of greenhouse gases. This paper considers whether negotiations can succeed in reaching an agreement that effectively addresses the climate change problem.
