    A cross-sectional anthropometric and retrospective mortality survey was conducted in seven states of Northern Nigeria from 21st July to 28th August 2011. The survey was conducted in Jigawa, Kano, Kebbi, Sokoto, Yobe and Zamfara states. The main objective of the survey was to determine the nutritional status of children under five years of age and women from 15-49 years.
