    Guyana: why Has Growth Stopped?: an empirical study on the stagnation of economic growth

    This paper examines the deterioration in economic performance in Guyana since 1998. Using an accounting exercise, the authors find that a significant part of the slowdown can be explained by declining growth rates in factor accumulation, resulting in a swing in total factor productivity (TFP).
