2013Different parts of Asia are at different stages of demographic shift. Most of the population growth will be in South Asia, which is also younger and still has much more urbanisation ahead of it. East and South-East Asia is expected to contribute around a quarter of the extra one billion Asians by 2040, after which point its population is expected to start declining.
