    AIDS is more than a disease: it attacks the life systems of individuals, families, communities and nations. One dimensional programmes, which overlook human complexity, fail in the face of HIV/AIDS. This joint paper from UNAIDS and UNDP argues that this is why the concept of ‘governance’, with people centred responses at their core, can be so useful to effective AIDS strategies.
