  The main purpose of the three studies summarised in this paper is to act as a baseline for monitoring and evaluating the implications of Mozambique’s poverty reduction strategies. The paper particularly underscores the importance of looking beyond households and individuals as "isolated" units of analysis, and focusing on social relationships.
