    This paper studies the potential effects of introducing genetically modified (GM) food crops in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, and the Philippines in the presence of trade-related regulations of GM food in major importers. It focuses on GM field crops (rice, wheat, maize, soybeans, and cotton) resistant to biotic and abiotic stresses, such as drought-resistant rice.

    This paper examines whether biotech food labelling has an impact on consumers’ vegetable oil purchasing decisions. The paper first states that some countries, such as the EU, have implemented mandatory labelling policy. However, other countries, such as the US, have adopted voluntary labelling policy that leaves the decision whether to label biotech food to each enterprise.
